Handle with Care

December 27, 2006

Life is filled with events that cause human beings to feel stress, a natural chemical reaction to adverse situations. Properly channelled and regulated, stress can help us be more productive, energetic, and alive.

Ride Out the Storm

We can choose to accept some stress as a natural by-product of being fully alive. With patience and faith, we wait out the storms of turbulence and imbalance in our lives, knowing that peaceful days and nights are just around the corner.

Accepting Our Purpose in Life

It’s tempting to ask, “Why me?” when suffering and stress consume our days. Through thoughtful prayer, we can move beyond self-pity to acceptance. By making acceptance a daily habit, we can focus on the positive in life as irritation and negativity fade away. When we let go of uphill battles we can experience the serenity of acceptance.

“Visualize a thunderstorm. Before it arrives, the clouds gather in the hot, muggy heavens. Discomfort and unease fill the air. Then lightning strikes, thunder crashes, and rain pounds. Life is tense and uncertain. But when it’s over, life is calm. You can feel the relief. The earth is nourished and cooled.”

– Molly Wigand, Heavenly Ways to Handle Stress

This post is for a good friend who has always been bubbly, active & full of life.Β I never thought that this friend would ever be under so much stress & anxiety. I just wantΒ my friend to know that in our busy lives & though we are miles apart, I will always be here & I’m always ready to help relieve my friend’s stress.

that stress ball cheered me right up πŸ˜‰

Life is really fun … we can breeze it through at 100kmh/hr or pace it. Either way, we have to learn to smile, bear it and roll with it. Sometimes we roll into a mudpit but nothing a good wash can’t help πŸ˜‰

Lx, your comment above tells me that you can be a dear friend to your friends who share their deepest feelings & fears with you.

There’s no doubt about it – should any of them feel depressed, you’ll be there to pick them up.

    HUGS! πŸ™‚

I am sure that it will not be a problem. My friend is just a worrywart who cares & is always ready to help everyone else through thick & thin.

Acceptance has never been a sign of giving up, only an attempt to grow stronger… Thanks for this!

Ehh.. I never thought that you’ll need this… especially now that you’re home on holidays.

Anyway, I do agree with you.. ‘cos acceptance is not a hopeless position; it’s the only position from which one can grow. If one accepts all of one’s life, none of it will have been wasted.

    HUGS!
