Don’t be Manipulated

January 23, 2007

Everyone who is manipulated feels the same way about it.

When you are manipulated, you often feel that you need to make an excuse just for being the way you are.

The explanation is simple. When you are manipulated, you feel as if you have been treated unfairly.

When you are manipulated, someone is trying to control you.

Someone does not want you to be free to have your own opinions, express your own feelings, or make your own decisions.

When you are manipulated, you feel intimidated.

You feel hesistant about doing what you want to do, what you would do if you were simply being your natural self and acting the way you wanted, the way you do when you are with yourself.

When you feel manipulated, just do what you want to do. Be natural about it. Don’t make a big thing out of it.

Just say, “I’m doing what I want. Is there anything wrong with that?”

And do it without looking back or seeking permission.

If someone does not want you to please yourself, why should you even bother to listen?

I do what I want to do because I want to do it.

Always do things that we want to do
No one force us to do anything that we do not want to do
Do things that you want to do and then be content if not happy, for it’s the best thing that we can do to please ourselves
We are not pleasing others and there is no need to but to please ourselves, to ensure that we are loved by ourselves
By doing the things that we want to do, we are showing love to ourselves, showing how much we appreciate ourselves.
    Hugs!

Yes, Matt.. ‘cos the greatest love of all is learning to love oneself.

We start living our lives when we are no longer manipulated by what others want us to do (and be), but are guided by our inner desires. πŸ˜‰

    Ditto, Dan. πŸ™‚

  7. I better fire my chiroprator, that dudes always manipulating me in some form! :+)
[Actually, I don’t really have a chiroprator, I just said that to be popular. How manipulative of me. naughty Dabido. Spank me now!] πŸ™‚

Actually, I hate being manipulated as well. Which probably explains why I hate watching TV. All those friggin’ adverts trying to get me to buy stuff.

When I run into a person who is manipulative in real life I usually avoid them. That’s why when I stop talking to someone, it’s usually for long periods of time. [Some of those long periods being life long]. πŸ™‚

    Hahaha.. Thanks, Dabs.
Your comments are very enlightening.. πŸ˜›

hey jem, live is, well, dynamic (for the lack of better word to use). our interactions with others would led us to the happier path or down the sorrowful lane. and some left us feeling used and isolated… but fear not, for every wound that you get, there are 10 healing hands around to take you in, hold you in their embrace, soothing you… πŸ™‚

Thank you for your reassurances, Lil. πŸ™‚
    HUGS!

Good people are often manipulated; what to do?

Life sucks in a way but it still is beautiful, too good to be true, right?
