Mind Wonders

February 22, 2010

If you have problems sleeping, think of the homeless who has no where to sleep.

If you happen to lose the one you love, think about a person who does not know what love is.

If you ever get tired of listening to a friend’s problem, think of what a deaf person will do just to hear anyone.

If your car ever breaks down, think of someone who could never own a car.

If you ever lose your job, think of someone who couldn’t work.

If you keep making mistakes, think of someone who didn’t get the chance to make many.

If you only own two pieces of clothing, think of someone who has never had any money to buy any clothing.

If you have to work everyday of a week, think of someone who is working everyday for a lifetime.

If you get up everyday and you’re sick, be thankful ‘coz there are other people who didn’t get the chance to wake up.

If you’re tired of eating left-overs, think of someone who has no left-overs to eat.

If you don’t want to see other people, think of the blind who wants to see anyone.

A Roaring Valentine

February 11, 2010

Love.. a small word for such a complex emotion. There is no simple explanation for it, because love is made up of so many things. It cannot be measured, because it is a feeling.

All of the money in the world cannot buy love; it has to be earned. It does not happen by wishing: it must come about naturally.

Love is not an instantaneous emotion, but something that grows slowly, maturing with time.

To love someone means being comfortable and at ease with them, sharing confidences knowing that they will be understood and held in trust. It means respecting each other’s dignity and never being demanding, but rather being willing to give, and accepting that which is given, graciously and with love.

To love someone means having a genuine concern for them, being able to sense that something is wrong without being told. It is understanding the other person’s problems, moods, “hang-ups” and accepting all of them even if you don’t quite understand. It is excusing their faults, because you know that their good points far outweigh the bad.

Love is always being there for each other with a shoulder to cry on, to give support when confidence levels are low, to give helpful advice when it is asked for, to know when to be silent and just listen, or to give cheerful words of encouragement.

Love is sharing the good and the bad, the hopes and the dreams, the amusing times and the serious times. It is doing things together, yet leaving room for each to grow as an individual.

How do I know all these things about love? Because this the kind of love my parents have given to me.

I am blessed with their love, and I will never take it for granted. I will strive to become a better person and to always be deserving of their love, because I truly love them as I have never loved before.

The Best Time is NOW

February 5, 2010

It’s just another day.
It’s just another time.
I tell my story by living it.

All lives have chapters in trouble.

But everyone’s hell is different.

No one knows what you’re going through.

No one can judge how badly you hurt.

You cannot convey how it feels to live with your troubles.

Sometimes you can’t even admit it to yourself.

The problems you contain confine you, dull your senses, numbing you, making it easier not to care and to sink into helplessness.

Don’t run.

Don’t panic.

Face the situation.

Just believe you can do it.

When something goes wrong, fix it as soon as you can.

When you are in pain, express it, just as you feel it.

When a misunderstanding occurs, discuss it when the question is fresh in everyone’s mind.

When an unfairness takes place, dispute it as it is happening.

When a problem occurs, work on it.

The best time is now.

The right person is you.
