No Regrets

March 1, 2010

One minute we’ve got a life,
The next day it could be all gone.
Will there be any after thoughts,
Or regrets of things done wrong?

Who will speak of us?
Who’ll say something in a kind way?
Who could we really count on,
When comes that special day?

Did we speak good of others?
Did we treat them with care?
Did we leave this world with regrets?
Have we left with that fear?

Now that we have the chance,
We can make each day a new.
Share our hearts with those around,
Help them remember us with love too.

For the life we live here today,
Reflects on what tomorrow will be.
If we live our lives with no regrets,
Then we’ll be remembered with love you see.

  1. Eulogies and the attendance of people at funerals kinda reflect that as well…
Not forgetting how fondly or badly the attendees speak of the deceased too..

Oh no… Morbidity strikes Lizzy again
    I’m beyond help… 😐

i think in one’s last hour(s), many things will make sense. but hopefully before that of course.

my comment may have been swallowed by a computer glitch, because it didn’t register that it was in moderation earlier. nonetheless, wanted to add it’s a good post, as usual of your style, jem!

you wrapped it up nicely, Jemima. all that matters in the end is kindness. in words, people we meet, ourselves.

    have a pleasant weekend. 😉

    • jemima Says:

Definitely in ourselves, _butt.. ‘cos we have to live with ourselves every single day. 😉

I trust that you had a good weekend, my friend. 🙂

  5. I have to confess that it’s tough for me to have absolutely no regrets, but I think the trick here is learning to let go of them. Regrets come, but we let them go.

And the rest of our wonderful, beautiful lives shall flow from this moment on… 🙂
